CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) – Two Holly Shelter Middle School students earned some recent honors with the work they did.
Olivia Stetler and Zipporah Tunnage took 1st place in the junior group exhibit – winning the HG Jones NC History Award from the state archives for their project on the 1898 Wilmington coup and massacre.
Their project will now be displayed at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC.
The two will have the chance to spend a day at the museum, sharing information with the public about their project and getting a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum and its artifacts.
